On The Hooks Saturday

I'e been kind of quiet lately, my power cord died to my laptop so I have to use the library's computer. So missing my lap top. But anyway,  I am half way done with a wrap sweater I am crocheting. This one is based on the DST Wrap in go sweater but with my own twist. This sweater is classic and kind of girly. It reminds me of one of my favorite Cyndi Lauper songs "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". One side is a lcy striped the other is a solid color. On future ones that  I crochet,  I will be changing the stitches  to the twisted double stitch. So far so good. I am totally in love with the sweater so far and it can be worn all year round. This sweater for all those who want to add it to their fall wardrobe will be $45. For the crafty chicas there is a fre patter from Redheart yarns that is the orginal.

A lot of times when  I create I learn different methods of making things from patterns. Ones I get the basic constructions down then I do my own designing. There are other things that I design that i don't use a pattern to learn from. However, I feel that once you learn to construct something the possibilites are endless when it comes to designing your own items. for all those crafty chicas out there do not be afraid to take a pattern and make it your own.  I for one have learned so much about construction from various patterns. 

However there is also nothing wrong with making up a pattern as you go along from your head. The point is to try and see what works for you. I will be posting photos as soon as I am done.. but for purple lovers like me the sweater is crocheted in the a purple color scheme. I can't wait to get to wear it. and YES it will be for sale on my Etsy site in the coming weeks. Have a great weekend .. Livinluv
