Guchet Designer -Melissa Young |
Melissa Young of Gu'Chet is a hopelessly obsessed crocheter, who can’t remember a time when she couldn’t crochet!
Melissa grew up in a creative home/family where crafting was a vast part of every day life. At the age 10 years old, Melissa was introduced to crocheting and has been armed with a crochet hook, ball of yarn and a work-in-progress every since.
Melissa started crocheting as a hobby, for gift giving to friends and family using already published patterns available out on the market. She quickly realized that for every pattern she started, she would end up changing this and tweaking that to accommodate her own style, body measurements and/or need for flair! Hence the launching of Gu’Chet.
Melissa designs, crochets and writes every patterns offered by Gu’Chet.
She says “Gu’Chet designs are unique in that they’re created for real people, with real body measurements and at the same time offer style and flair.”
“I pride myself on creating patterns that are not only easy and fun to follow, but that also yield a garment you’ll truly be excited to wear. Garment’s that are stylish, trendy and demand attention when you walk into the room”.
Melissa says her inspiration for her designs come from any and everywhere; something she see’s in a clothing store or magazine, friends and family, other talented designers and out of sheer need for a something unique to wear to an event or gathering.
